3 days in Goa

Goa is a place, no one would say no to!
Everyone has their own story
about Goa.
And this one is mine.

Basic info: Mumbai to Goa

Route: Mumbai to Goa via NH 4 route.
Distance: 590 kms.
Time: 12 hrs with halt.

We left for Goa from Mumbai at around 12 am and took us around 12 hrs to reach by road.

By 12 pm, we were in Goa.

We checked into our hotel- Dreams Palm Beach Resort, a perfectly reasonable one.

Got ready for our first destination, which was a 3 minutes walk from our hotel.

Calangute Beach,

It is located between Baga and Candolim beach and is one of the most crowded beaches of Goa. Besides a mesmerizing view, it offers you a great variety of food on stalls nearby.

After a heavy goan lunch, from a restaurant nearby, we decided to spend some more time on the beach, soaking ourselves in the sun.

After getting tanned enough, we decided to get back to our hotel. We got some rest.

At 5 pm, we decided to go to the nearest local fish market- Naikwaddo to get something to cook for dinner.

We hardly get to see these varieties of fresh fishes in the market at our place, well of course Goa is known for this. Got some fresh Surmai.

We cooked the best fish curry and served it with rice.

After having dinner, we finished our first day here.

Day 2,

Today, our first destination was Chapora Fort. It is around a 30 minutes drive from our hotel. We covered  the distance by our own car but one can have many options to get around. Buses are the cheapest option one can find, charging only 7 rupees per km. You can also hire a car or motorcycle for a day.

The fort is just rising above the Chapora river and hence named after it. Now it is also called 'dil chahta hai' since the movie- dil chahta hai was shot here back in 2001.
You can enjoy the beautiful sunrise and sunset from here.

Instead, we spent an hour enjoying this beautiful view of Chapora river from the fort because that was not the time for sunset or sunrise.

Now at a distance of around 5 kms was Anjuna beach, our next destination.

Our main reason behind visiting this beach was water activities. We had heard enough about the activities to visit here.

Parasailing, jet ski and banana boats were enough for us to enjoy the beach.
Timing: 10 am to 6 pm

After having some rest at our hotel, in the evening we went to explore the local market of Goa. No one can leave Goa without buying packets of cashew nuts. I got myself three packets of salty cashews.

After spending enough money on buying stuff, we finally left.

Then we went to Baga beach for an amazing dinner.

Dim lights, music and delicious goan food, is everything we all needed after a hectic day.

Got back to the hotel.

It was 2 am, we all were having midnight cravings so decided to go to a nearby cafe for a cheesecake.

Day 3,

Good morning,

Today is the last day here in Goa.

We checked out from the hotel.

After having breakfast, we went to the Basilica of Bom Jesus, which was around a 45 minutes drive.

Basilica holds the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. The body is kept at a height which cannot be seen easily. The interior of the church is gold plated.

Some distance from the Basilica was Se cathedral, which is one of the largest cathedrals of Asia.

2 pm,

This was our last lunch from this trip.

We left for Mumbai at around 4 pm.
And reached by 3 am in the morning.

"This trip has gifted us some amazing memories to take back and also a tanned body!"
